Qorium is a fast-paced startup, with the exciting mission to produce leather in a sustainable way by using cell and tissue culture. It is located in the historic and academic town of Maastricht, The Netherlands. For the next 1.5 years Qorium consists of at least 6 scientists led by a chief scientific officer, prof Mark Post and two CEOs Mrs Kranendijk and Ploem. You will work in a team of 3 scientists/technicians that develops a scalable system to produce cell cultured leather. You will design and/or perform these experimental designs, source the components and relate to suppliers for scaled and cost-efficient ingredients. Team members are supported through projects managed by your team leader in collaboration with the chief scientific officer. You will share responsibility for structured and traceable data archiving. Cell production is coordinated with the tissue engineering team to create large tissue sheets that serve as substrate for leather processing. A bachelor or master degree in Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Science, or Biomaterials is a requisite.
